Questions
Frequently asked, answered
The questions people ask before they join. If yours isn’t here, contact us and you’ll get a straight answer.
Is there a free trial? Can I cancel anytime?
There’s no free trial. General Membership is the accessible entry point: experience the platform, see the value, and upgrade to Professional when you’re ready and eligible, for full access and the advanced content made for your profession.
Want a feel for it first? Online co-working drop-ins are open to everyone, member or not. Come to one, meet the people, and see how it works before you decide.
If the cost isn’t accessible for you and you’re a public insurance adjuster specifically, contact us for a private conversation.
Annual memberships are paid upfront for the full year. If you choose not to renew, simply let your membership lapse at the end of the term. No penalties, no hassle.
Is Claim Cohort an association or a nonprofit?
No. Claim Cohort is a professional development platform and community, not a membership association or trade organisation. Think of Claim Cohort as complementary to professional associations.
Associations provide industry advocacy, lobbying, regulatory representation and formal member benefits such as annual conferences and CE or CLE. They’re mission-driven organisations focused on advancing the profession as a whole, run by volunteers or a small staff.
Claim Cohort provides year-round education, an organised peer community and professional networking, focused on individual professional and business growth, daily connection and practical learning. It fills the gaps between conferences and association events.
Because we’re not reliant on volunteers or board approval, Sarah Parker’s education is delivered quickly and consistently. Course requests from members are built and released on a rolling basis, with priority given to what members vote for, not held for annual conference planning or limited to topics that CE and CLE accreditation allows. Think of it as what happens between conferences, alongside your associations.
How is this different from Facebook, Discord or Reddit groups?
We provide the content and the education, so you don’t have to. Most free online groups rely entirely on members to post and hope someone knowledgeable answers, which are often rife with incorrect advice, that can harm not only careers, but policyholders. Claim Cohort delivers quality content moderation, regular educational content, industry updates, DOI alerts and curated resources.
No post deletion for competition reasons. Many Facebook groups delete posts because they charge for advertising or see the poster as a competitor. Here, self-promotion is explicitly encouraged in dedicated channels, and networking is one of the goals. Your posts won’t be removed for promoting your business or service, as long as they’re in the right channel.
Plus: searchable channels, resources and documents rather than buried threads, no algorithm hiding updates, professional moderation with no trolls or combative comments, and transparent networking, with professional badges showing who everyone is and what they do.
And, perhaps most importantly: privacy. Online groups like Facebook or Reddit are often subject to scraping, or parties taking screenshots of content (that sometimes end up in depositions). But don’t worry: you can still post anonymously if you really need to, or block members through the platform if you can’t work out your differences.
Can I control who sees my posts and who I interact with?
Yes. Unlike Facebook, Reddit or Discord groups, where you have to guess at the audience or join entirely separate groups by profession, Claim Cohort lets you choose. Post in profession-specific private channels, such as the public adjuster-only channels or the PA firm owners channel, for sensitive discussions with peers only, or post in open channels for cross-profession collaboration.
Every member displays a professional badge showing their exact role: public adjuster, contractor, attorney and so on. You always know who you’re talking to. That privacy and transparency is what makes real learning and honest collaboration possible.
Should I still attend conferences and join associations?
Absolutely. Conferences and associations provide real value. Claim Cohort complements them: it’s your home base for the other 361 days of the year. Many members promote their association events and conference appearances in our channels.
Do you offer CE or CLE credits?
Not currently, though we will in the future. For now the focus is on quality education that fills the gaps CE and CLE courses can’t, by regulation, or covers topics existing education doesn’t.
That actually frees us to teach the things typically prohibited from CE or CLE accreditation: business operations, marketing, client acquisition and growth. You get the complete education you need to run and grow a professional practice.
How do you verify public adjusters for the public adjuster-specific resources?
We verify PA licenses through state databases, typically Sircon. That keeps the public adjuster-specific channels and resources a trusted, private space for licensed public adjusters only. No carriers, no opposing counsel, no unlicensed individuals.
What if I don’t have time to participate regularly?
That’s completely fine. Unlike conferences, live cohorts or masterclasses that require you at a set time, the platform is on demand. Learn when you have time, reference courses when you need them, drop into discussions when they’re relevant, and get support when you need it. No daily participation required.
Many members use it as a reference library, come in to upskill on a specific claims issue, or browse weekly. You paid for a year of access. Use it however fits your schedule.
Can associations or companies purchase discounted group memberships?
Yes. We offer discounted bulk rates, custom organisation badges so your members display your name, optional dedicated spaces, and flexible billing. It suits associations offering a member benefit and firms training their teams. Contact us for custom pricing.
